MODULE MAKERS
ABOUT
I'm Mariane McLucas. I hold a Master's in Instructional Design and Technology and I've spent over 12 years building training for industries where getting it wrong is not an option.
Module Makers is my consultancy. It's me, working directly with clients, managing every project from scoping through delivery. When you hire Module Makers, you're hiring one senior professional who is accountable for the finished product. There are no layers between you and the person doing the work.
I specialize in compliance and regulatory training across healthcare, real estate licensing, construction safety, insurance, and corporate onboarding. I've built courses for state agencies, healthcare organizations, educational institutions, and professional service companies. My work on Upwork has earned Top Rated Plus status with 100% Job Success across every completed contract.
Before instructional design, I spent 10 years working across industries including travel, insurance, oil and gas, real estate, and restaurants. I've spent enough time in real workplaces to know that training has to make sense on a practical level, not just look good on paper. I've seen what happens when it doesn't. When I build training, it reflects real work environments because I've worked in them.
How AI Fits Into My Work
I use AI every day as part of my production workflow. Not as a shortcut and not as a replacement for thinking. I work across multiple AI platforms and I've developed a cross-model validation methodology that catches errors and content drift before deliverables reach clients.
I think of AI as a very fast, very capable intern. It can do great work, but it needs direction and oversight. Left unsupervised, it drifts. It guesses. It fills gaps with confident-sounding information that isn't always accurate. That's where most AI workflows fall apart. The output looks good, but no one has really checked it.
Speed is useful, but only if the output holds up.
My job is to direct the workflow, verify the output, and make sure the final product is something I'd put my name on.
That approach let me manage a 90-hour curriculum revamp with over 1,000 assessment questions as a solo consultant. AI handled production volume. I handled quality control. The result was a 5-star project delivered on a regulatory deadline.
I'm currently developing a training program for professionals who want to learn how to use AI reliably in their own work, using plain language systems instead of technical coding. If that interests you, check the blog for updates.
